MAD Tanzania Internships

Make A Difference Global Internship Program
Each year, Make A Difference provides the opportunity for students at major universities throughout the world to work abroad with our local staff.
Our Make A Difference Global Internship Program is designed to broaden the experience of individuals embarking on professional careers.

Program Includes:
Housing, meals, language courses, cultural learning, guidelines, orientation, transportation, house security, guide and planned site seeing and educational trips.
This is a great career development program, allowing for a safe environment within a new culture.

Dates of Internships
Minimum of three month to maximum of one year commitment.
Openings are from February 1st to May 1st and September 1st to December 1st each year
*Dates can be adjusted for students on summer break, but these are normally the best dates for the organization.

Hours
Interns are scheduled to work 30 hours a week between the hours of 10AM-5PM. However, the nature of work is such that interns and staff may occasionally participate in after-hours activities, such as outreach programs, visits to the orphanage, and schools we support.

We encourage our interns to explore the country they will be working in and offer cultural site seeing trips throughout their time with us.

Personal and Professional Growth and Development
The personal and professional growth and development of the intern as an emerging professional is a very important part of our program. Training is designed to guide interns through the transition from a student role to that of an entry level professional, as they learn to balance multiple professional roles and demands while experiencing more challenging responsibilities. The ability to observe and interact with locals is a key element of the learning process. We are committed to facilitating personal and professional development and the identity of each intern through supervision, mentoring, consultation, and a variety of training experiences. The intern’s individual supervisor serves as a mentor.

Structured and Flexible Training
Our internship program is designed to be flexible and responsive to individual and cultural differences. We work with each intern to provide a balance between structured and flexible training experiences tailored to meet the unique interests, needs, and abilities of each intern based on individual and cultural differences. Interns select learning goals and activities based on individual needs and interests.
