We wish that we could take care of every volunteer helping Make
A Difference, and we used to! However, the money we were spending
on training, housing, feeding and transporting our volunteers
was taking away from the money we had for the children. MAD has
program fees to make sure that we are fiscally responsible and
do the most for the children we help.
Where Your Program Fee Goes:
- It costs approximately $50 USD to pick up and drop off volunteers
from the airport.
- It costs approximately $20 USD a day to buy food and cook.
- It costs approximately $10 USD a day to house volunteers.
- The cost of going to and from the orphanage and into town is $30 USD a day. Fuel is $8 USD a gallon here. That's $210 a week.
- Additional costs include Language and Cultural Lessons, Guides,
security, and supplies for projects. If there is any money left
over from your program fees, it goes to help sponsor the children
we help!
Volunteer program fees and donations are tax-deductible for U.S.
residents. Make A Difference is an independent non-profit 501(c)(3)
organization in the U.S. (Please check with a tax advisor to determine
how airfare may be tax-deductible).
A deposit of $215 USD is due two months before your volunteer
date and your remaining balance is due one month before your volunteer
date.

Early Bird Independent Traveler:
Get Your Payment in 4 months in advance and take $100 OFF your
total program fee if you are traveling alone. Please make note
of any special that you qualify for when you are applying to volunteer
so we are aware of discounts to award you.
