Student Spotlight: Every Graduate Changes More Than One Life
Graduations begin with a decision.
A decision to keep showing up. To keep learning.
That's why every graduation we celebrate at Make A Difference Now means so much more than earning a degree. It's proof that when determination meets opportunity, lives change and those lives go on to change countless others.
Congratulations, Anna Christina
This summer, we're proud to celebrate Anna Christina, who graduated with a Master's Degree in Psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu, earning an outstanding 4.0 GPA.
Originally from Brazil, Anna has spent years pursuing her dream of becoming a licensed therapist. While completing her graduate studies, she worked at her internship site, earning the supervised hours needed for licensure while continuing to invest in the people she serves.
When asked why this scholarship mattered, she answered:
"This scholarship will help me get closer to my career goals."
Anna plans to become a licensed therapist and, once she earns her license, provide pro bono counseling services so that people who cannot afford mental health care still have someone to turn to.
Along the way, she also volunteered with the No Mo Haus Program in Oahu, serving individuals experiencing homelessness with compassion and dignity.
That's the kind of ripple effect education creates.
One person grows.
Then they help someone else grow.
And the circle keeps expanding.
Looking Ahead to the Class of 2026
Over the coming year, we'll celebrate six more graduates whose hard work and perseverance are opening doors not only for themselves, but for their families, communities, and future professions.
Our upcoming graduates include:
Peter — Bachelor of Law
Khadija — Diploma in Laboratory Sciences
Fabiola — Bachelor of Nursing
Magreth — Bachelor of Journalism
Nembris — Bachelor of Accounting
Stacy — Bachelor of Nursing
Each degree represents years of commitment, resilience, and the belief that a better future is worth working for.
Why We Invest in Education
A scholarship is never just financial support.
A lawyer brings justice.
A nurse brings healing.
A journalist brings truth.
An accountant builds stronger organizations.
A laboratory scientist strengthens healthcare.
A therapist brings hope.
That's how communities change: not all at once, but one person at a time.
The Journey Continues
For more than 17 years, Make A Difference Now has believed that education is one of the greatest investments we can make.
Not because a diploma changes the world.
Because the person holding it does.
Congratulations, Anna.
And to every student preparing to graduate this year, we're cheering you on. Your journey has already inspired us, and we know your greatest impact is still ahead.
The future isn't something that simply arrives.
It's something we build together.
