Business Empowerment (BE)
This year, 60 scholarship students have joined the Business Empowerment (BE) Program, adding to a growing community of 600 graduates.
The numbers tell a story: 70% of BE students are employed within six months of college.
This year, we're also taking that momentum beyond Tanzania and bringing our program to Lesotho, a small country surrounded by South Africa.
College and Graduations
Out of the 83 scholarships given in 2026, 23 have been distributed to students pursuing degrees and diplomas across 12 universities in Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, and the USA.
These students are preparing for careers in fields such as law, nursing, journalism, accounting, and agriculture.
This year also marks an exciting milestone as six students prepare to graduate, demonstrating the lasting impact that education and opportunity can create.
Motherhood to Midwifery: Meet Kelly
We're honored to welcome Kelly as a new student in the Make A Difference Now USA Scholarship Program.
A mother of two, Kelly is in her final year of midwifery school, where she has attended more than 250 births.
After overcoming years away from the classroom, she is now pursuing her calling to support mothers and families through safe, compassionate care.
With her scholarship, Kelly can complete her training and improve maternal healthcare.
Helena: Scholarship to Summit
Through the Make A Difference Now Sponsorship Program, Helena is studying at Mweka Wildlife College and pursuing her dream of protecting Tanzania's wildlife.
Her journey shows how education can open doors to incredible opportunities.

Meet our team, hear from volunteers, and discover the many ways in which you can personally help expand educational access to underserved communities around the world.
Ready for a Change? Enter Our Raffle!
One lucky winner will receive a 5-day, 4-night Tanzania cultural adventure + walking safari or Kilimanjaro day hike, with accommodation, meals, and activities included.
As the winner, you will experience Tanzania in a more personal way, from learning Swahili and visiting local communities and markets, to exploring Kilimanjaro and taking a guided walking safari.
Funds raised through the raffle will provide youth and women with better access to education and career training, helping them become financially independent and thrive.
