Business Empowerment (BE)
This year, 60 scholarship students have joined the Business Empowerment (BE) Program, adding to a growing community of 600 graduates.
The numbers tell a story: 70% of BE students are employed within six months of college.
This year, we're also taking that momentum beyond Tanzania and bringing our program to Lesotho, a small country surrounded by South Africa.
College and Graduations
Out of the 83 scholarships given in 2026, 23 have been distributed to students pursuing degrees and diplomas across 12 universities in Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, and the USA.
These students are preparing for careers in fields such as law, nursing, journalism, accounting, and agriculture.
This year also marks an exciting milestone as six students prepare to graduate, demonstrating the lasting impact that education and opportunity can create.

Anna Chistina at her graduation!
Anna Christina, (pictured above) recently graduated with her Master’s Degree in Psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu.
Anna Christina has already received a job offer! She is working with Hawaii State Hospital. Her story is a powerful reminder that investing in education creates opportunities that extend far beyond one individual.

Investing in the Team Behind the Mission
The MAD team at Amani Light Wellness Center.
Theresa recently visited Tanzania and had our local team participate in a staff retreat at Amani Light Wellness Center, focused on strengthening collaboration, improving systems, and creating space for reflection and strategic planning.
One of the biggest takeaways from the retreat was a renewed sense of connection across our team.
New Learning Hub
One of our most exciting long-term projects is the development of our own dedicated learning space. We are planning to build a Learning Hub in Tanzania, which will serve as a permanent center for education, training, and community development.
The first phase of development will include:
A dedicated learning space
Computers for digital learning
Presentation equipment and teaching technology
Bathroom facilities
This space represents long-term sustainability and a permanent home for the communities we serve.

Expanding Reach, Building What Lasts
Growth isn’t just about getting bigger, it’s about building something that holds.
We’re building partnerships with institutions like Mzumbe University, the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA), and Teofilo Kisanji University (TEKU) in Tanzania as well as in Lesotho (a small country within South Africa) focused on making sure graduates don't just graduate from college but get jobs through our BE Program.
